Living Life Unveiled: Where Our Mess Meets God’s Glory
Let’s be real for a second. How many times have you looked at your life and thought, There’s no way God can use this mess? The chaos, the broken pieces, the constant feeling that you’re just barely holding it all together—it can feel overwhelming. And if you’re anything like me, you’ve probably convinced yourself that God can only shine through the “perfect” parts of your life. But let me tell you, that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Here’s what I’ve discovered: God’s glory doesn’t shine in spite of our mess; it shines through it. When we live our lives unveiled—when we stop pretending and let others see the real, raw, “I don’t have it all together, but I’m still showing up” parts of ourselves—that’s when God’s beauty is most evident. It’s not about being perfect; it’s about being real.
Our cracks, our brokenness, and our imperfections create space for His light to shine through. The more we stop hiding behind the veils of insecurity or fear, the more we allow God to take the messy parts of our story and turn them into something extraordinary.
This is something Janice and I dive into in our latest Heart Talk podcast. We talk about how living unveiled and embracing the messy parts of life opens the door for God’s glory to shine in ways we never imagined. It’s a reminder that God isn’t waiting for us to have it all together; He’s waiting for us to bring our messy, imperfect selves to Him so He can do what only He can do.
My friend, let this be your reminder: your mess is not too big for God. It’s the very thing He’ll use to show His glory and love to the world. So let’s stop hiding. Let’s live unveiled, cracks and all, and let His light shine through.
