I’ve been noticing something lately—so many believers are weary. Our feeds are filled with words that sound heavy, worn, and broken. And honestly? I understand it. Life can hit hard. I’ve been there too—writing the same kind of words, praying the same kind of desperate prayers. It’s 100% okay to be real about that.
We need those honest spaces where we can say, “I’m hurting.”
We need to be able to admit, “I don’t see the way forward right now.”
That’s not weakness—that’s truth.
Even David did that. He didn’t hide his heart behind perfect words or polished faith. He cried out to God in the caves, in the chaos, and in the confusion. He asked questions like, “How long, Lord?” and “Why have You forgotten me?” (Psalm 13). He poured out every emotion—grief, fear, anger, loneliness—and yet, his honesty always led him back to hope.
That’s what made David a man after God’s own heart.
He was raw, but he didn’t stay stuck.
He wept, but he also worshiped.
He questioned, but he never quit trusting.
That’s the balance we’ve got to find again.
It’s okay to sit in the struggle for a moment—but not to set up camp there.
It’s okay to acknowledge the battle—but not to bow down to it.
Somewhere along the way, we’ve learned to live like we’re constantly being overcome, instead of remembering that we already are overcomers.
But the cross didn’t just comfort us—it changed us.
Jesus didn’t just die to get us through—He died to bring us out.
Yes, be honest about the pain. Cry if you need to. Let God meet you there.
But then, lift your eyes. Speak His Word. Activate your faith to believe.
Remind your heart who you belong to and what victory you already stand in.
You were never meant to live defeated.
You were meant to rise.
David said it best in Psalm 3:3 —
“But You, O Lord, are a shield around me; You are my glory, the One who holds my head high.”
That’s the posture of an overcomer.
Not someone who never struggles, but someone who refuses to stay down.
So, yes—be real. Be honest. Be raw.
But don’t stay stuck.
Because you’re not walking toward victory—you’re walking from it.
The same God who heard David’s cry hears yours too.
And He’s still the lifter of your head.
Over the next few weeks, I am doing an Overcomer Series that I have already started on my Unveiled Living Facebook page—short truth-bombs, real talk moments, and scripture-based declarations to remind us who we are and Whose we are.
This message isn’t about pretending everything’s fine. It’s about learning how to rise again above our circumstances—how to be honest and victorious at the same time, how to cry out like David did but not stay stuck there.
Because while life can hit hard, God’s Word hits harder when we learn to activate it!
And it’s time we start walking like the overcomers He says we are.

Thank you for the reminder! The devil just keeps throwing curve balls at me. I forget that I don't have to swing at the pitch.
I was meant to read this today. Very much feeling stuck and overwhelmed right now
