The Selah I Didn’t See Coming
(Unfiltered Faith is back—and here's what really happened behind the scenes.)
When I used the word Selah this summer, I had a whole dreamy picture in my head—literally. I imagined myself on the beach (only 15 minutes away), soaking up Vitamin D, catching my breath, and maybe even working on this Wonder Bread skin of mine just a little bit.
So in honor of that mental picture? Yes. I went ahead and posted a slice of white bread on the beach as today’s blog photo. Because it felt right. LOL!
But the real Selah that unfolded? Looked a lot less like rest and a whole lot more like God shifting some things around in my world.
My plate wasn’t just full—it was overflowing (and not in the Psalm 23 kind of way). So something had to pause. And Unfiltered Faith was one of those things—not because I lost my fire, but because God was shifting my focus.
Here’s the truth:
Unveiled Living was moving fast. Like, warp speed fast.
New studies released: Deeply Rooted (drops 8/18) and Foundation to Flourish
Another one on the way: Unshaken drops this September
And a brand new website to pull it all together in a fresh way
Worship ministry was demanding more of my heart and time
And I knew I couldn’t keep pouring out if I wasn’t being filled up
I had to clear space to actually live the faith I write about—to slow down and soak up Jesus in the Secret Place.
It wasn’t easy to stop. Honestly, I wanted to keep showing up here. There were so many moments I almost popped in with a quick post—but I held back. Because writing from fumes and stress isn’t what this space is about. And you deserve more than that.
So here I am—one Selah season later—still white as wonder bread, but, with fresh perspective, renewed fire, and a deep joy about what God is doing in and through the messiness of our lives.
I’m back. And I’m so excited.
What to Expect Going Forward:
Unfiltered Faith posts every Monday—that’s the guarantee
Real stories, scriptures, and straight-up truth about faith in real life
And when there’s an overflow of writing coming out of me? I may pop in on Thursdays or Saturdays, too
In the meantime, from Tuesday to Sunday—go take a look at all that’s happening over at Unveiled Living. Whether it’s a short devotional or one of our brand new Bible studies, I promise there’s something there to meet you right where you are.
So—are you ready for Round 2 of Unfiltered Faith?
Because I am, bread and all!

Thank you for all your words of encouragement that you share in your posts. I look forward to reading them, even if I fall a week or two behind because of the business in my own life. I'm glad you are taking time for yourself and getting the Sabbath rest you need to refuel your spirit with His. I know that when He teaches you, you share that (at least in part) to me through your posts and blogs. They help when I am struggling and bring a new sense of joy to my life. So I just wanted to say Thank You for all that you share. It makes a huge difference to this reader!
