It’s not too often I get writer’s block. There’s usually something stirring in me — something I’m walking through with Jesus, something I’m studying, something I’m processing. But this week? It felt quiet.
Every time I sat down to write, the screen just blinked at me. And instead of trying to create something just to fill the space, I decided to not force it out of me.
But the other morning — February 13 at 5:23 a.m. — I wrote something in my notes that I wanted to share.
“I am a child of God. He is my Father. So what belongs to Him is mine as well. It’s my inheritance. And here on earth, what is His is mine. Through Him I have the authority to silence the enemy.”
Romans 8:16–17 (NLT) says,
“For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. And since we are his children, we are his heirs…”
Heirs.
Here is our beautiful truth: if He is our my Father — really our Father — then we’re not operating from lack. We’re operating from inheritance.
And then Jesus says in Luke 10:19 (NLT),
“Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy…”
Given.
That means when the enemy starts whispering, taunting, distorting who God is or who we are — we don’t have to crumble. We don’t have to spiral. We don’t have to entertain it for even a second.
And why? Because we know who we are!
And 1 John 3:1 (NLT) just seals it:
“See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are!”
That is what we are.
Child.
Daughter. Son.
Loved.
Sometimes I think we rush past that. But this right here? This is deep enough to sit in for a lifetime.
The love of God is the most beautiful thing we will ever experience. Nothing compares to being fully known and fully loved by a Father who doesn’t change His mind about you.
So maybe the well wasn’t dry this week……
