Okay friend…
We’ve spent the whole month talking about Dwell and Position — where we stay and how we stay in the presence of the Lord. And listen… if you’re like me, I’m sure some of us soaked it in like Mary, and some of us…
Well… some of us took a few scenic detours.
With snacks.
And unnecessary Target runs. 😂
So I thought — why not wrap up this whole monthly focus with a some joy, a little laughter, and a whole lot of “Let’s have some fun!”
If You Did Any of These This Week… You Might Be a Martha 😅
You sat down to dwell… and immediately stood back up because you remembered your laundry pile staring back at you.
You told the Lord, “I want to be still”… and then reorganized the pantry.
You prayed for clarity… and then opened Google to start searching ways to organize your pantry.
You tried to position your heart… but your brain was like, “Actually, let’s go into panic mode because of my to do list.”
You journaled for 30 seconds… and then planned your entire year, a women’s retreat, and a side business.
You asked God for peace… and five seconds later were fixing someone else’s entire life story.
You were dwelling beautifully… until your phone notifications went off. And suddenly you were dwelling in Instagram reels.
You positioned yourself to listen… and somehow ended up sniffing candles in Target. Again.
You declared, “Mary posture today!” — and Martha tackled you before breakfast.
If you’re laughing…
It’s because you’re guilty.
And guess what?
SO AM I.
But If You Did Any of THESE… You’re More Positioned Than You Think
Maybe this week you:
Paused instead of reacting.
Whispered “Jesus, I need You” when you wanted to let your mind get overwhelmed.
Caught yourself spiraling… and made a quick, “Not Today Satan,” comeback.
Opened your Bible even though your mind was doing gymnastics.
Asked God a question and waited longer than 30 seconds to hear the answer.
Released something you’ve been gripping too tightly and made the decision that you’re leaving it at the feet of Jesus.
Noticed God in an ordinary moment — in the car, at the sink, in the quiet.
Took one deep breath and realized… you weren’t alone.
If you did any of those things?
You’re positioning your heart.
You’re learning a new rhythm.
You’re responding to His presence.
And if I may encourage you - you’re doing better than you think.
Here’s the Truth Behind the Humor
Position has never been about trying to be perfect or having it all together.
Position is about learning to grow one beautiful step at a time, learning to truly trust in the Lord - the release type of trust.
It’s catching yourself and coming back.
It’s realizing when Martha grabbed the wheel
and choosing Mary — again.
It’s staying near enough that His voice
becomes the loudest thing in the room.
Because the point of dwell is learning where to live.
The point of position is all about how we show up in that place.
And friend…
you are showing up.
Even in the messy ways.
Even in the start-again moments.
Even in the “wow I sprinted past Jesus again” days.
He sees it.
He honors it.
He delights in it.
And what I love most, He helps us through it all.
And Now… Let’s Have Some Fun With What’s Coming Next
Okay, ready?
Now that we’ve learned where to stay (Dwell)…
and how to stand there (Position)…
Guess what’s next week?
GOD’S LOVE.
Yes, we’re going to start diving into some Holy Habits but we’re going to wrap the month of February around a topic we actually don’t talk about enough.
The love of God.
And trust me, it’s gonna to be crazy good!
But TODAY?
Today is just a celebration.
Give yourself grace as you draw closer to the Lord and definitely don’t beat yourself up when Martha days take over. Instead stop and say, “Wow Lord, You really are teaching me and I cannot thank you enough.”
This is all part of this beautiful journey where we are learning the sacred rhythm of coming back home to His presence — again and again. Day after day.
That’s the beauty of dwelling.
That’s the miracle of positioning.
And that’s why this whole month mattered so much.
Until next time, friend.
You’re doing better than you think.
P.S. Don’t forget to check out this week’s Heart Talk - What’s In Your Hand - I talk about a beautiful story about my dad and what happens when dwelling with the Lord leads to activating some crazy faith in impossible things!
