2025: I Dare You
Clearing out the clutter to let God do something beautiful in 2025
It’s Almost 2025… What in the World?!
At the beginning of this year, I stood in my office, stared at my blank vision board, and wrote down these words:
Vision 2024: Make Room – Do Whatever You Want to, Lord.
I’ve been doing this since 2017—praying for a spiritual focus word or phrase for the year. Let me tell you, it’s not just another “New Year, New Me” thing. It’s been one of the most effective ways for me to grow spiritually and stay focused.
But here’s the reality check of 2024.
As I sat in my office day after day, those words stared right back at me—sometimes quietly, sometimes loud and bold. “Make room… do whatever you want to, Lord.”
And yet, I had this mental picture that stuck with me all year long.
I could see Jesus knocking at the door of my heart. I let Him in, of course, because—hello, it’s Jesus! But when He stepped in, there was a problem.
The room was FULL.
Stuff. Everywhere.
Clutter.
Some of it was good—things I love, things I’ve attached myself to. Other things? They were those “yeses” I said without ever asking God if I should.
The room was so full of my stuff that Jesus was pushed into a small corner, squished against the wall, like a last-minute dinner guest you weren’t quite ready for.
And that picture? It’s been a wake-up call for me all year.
If I say I want to make room for the Lord, then I’ve got to actually make room. That means being careful with what I commit to, what I say yes to, and even what I say no to.
And this right here is the kicker:
Sometimes, the biggest thing keeping us from making room for God is our own identity.
If our identity is wrapped up in the things we’re doing, the goals we’re chasing, and the dreams we’ve built without Him, then we’ll never be able to give God a fully surrendered “yes.”
I don’t know who that’s for, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that someone needed to hear it.
Looking Ahead to 2025
Here’s what I know: I’ve grown this year. I’ve walked through battles I didn’t see coming, challenges that pushed me deeper into my faith, and seasons that stretched me in ways I’m still processing.
But as I lean into the Holy Spirit, I have this stirring in my spirit for 2025:
Daring Faith.
I’m talking mountain-moving faith. The kind of faith that dares to dream, dares to believe, and dares to step out in ways I’ve never stepped before.
I have dreams that have been simmering quietly on the back burner. And I can’t help but wonder—could 2025 be the year?
To step out?
To dare to believe for the impossible?
To say, “Lord, I’m ready to tread on those waters”?
But here’s the deal: I can’t do it unless I anchor myself in God’s Word. I’ve got to lasso my thoughts, my fears, and even my wildest dreams with His truth. So in reality, making room for the Lord to do whatever He wants isn’t just for 2024, it’s a life commitment.
So here’s my challenge to you:
Seek Him for your 2025 vision.
Ask the Lord to give you a word, a specific scripture or a phrase—something to anchor yourself to as you walk into this new year. Maybe you’ve never done this before, and that’s okay! But I dare you to try.
God is always speaking to us through His Word, through quiet nudges, and through the leading of the Holy Spirit. Find out what He’s speaking to you for 2025.
Write that vision down. Make it plain. Pray over it. And watch Him work.
And while you’re at it, let me help you get started. If you’re not sure where to begin, jump into my 5-Day Deeply Rooted Bible Study. It’s quick, practical, and it’ll set the tone for your year.
I dare you. Do it.
Because I have this feeling that 2025 isn’t going to be “just another year.”
It’s going to be the year of daring faith.
Are you ready?
